以貌取人.

以貌取人.

These four words are pretty powerful, yet simple.
English means –  ‘ don’t judge by a book by its cover

However, as humans, we are flawed by the mechanism of emotions. The thoughts flow through by the limited knowledge we know of another human being. Whether that judgement is made by a family member, friend, colleague or even strangers. There is this mechanism inside of us that flows that sudden switches and determines someone by their – features? Words they speak? Voice? Appearance? Job? Family background? And so forth….

The feeling of being judged is never nice. However, just know that it’s a pity for that person whose doing the judging, It is truly an emotion that stems from an assumption or even a precondition experience and events. It is obsessive, narcissistic and ignorant behaviour.

Nevertheless, we’ve all been guilty of doing so…
No one is perfect but as a society/community or even just a human we should strive to do better, this is directed to those that want to learn and not just stop of their own ‘comfort zone’.

My experience, well, to say the least, it hasn’t been the most pleasant, to be judged by people who I thought was friends, close family members, colleagues, strangers and even those that you could say the utmost affectionate 3 words too but to only get knocked by their family members. Nevertheless, there is another phrase to use is ‘經一事長一智’.  Each experience you will grow.

From the four words – 以貌取人 remember that everyone has their own story, you may have just met that person, or even on a certain date, you may know a part of them but not the whole.

Strive to be a better human being.
